During a holiday season that’s meant to be about giving thanks and spending time with your loved ones, the last thing you’d want is to get hacked or scammed. If you’re planning on making any online purchases during this major shopping weekend, be sure to follow these tips to protect yourself!

1. Click carefully. Pay attention to the links you click to ensure everything is legit.
2. Look for the lock icon at the top of your browser. This will prove that your connection is secure, meaning that your passwords, credit cards, and other personal information is private when using that site.
3. Use strong and unique passwords. Make it impossible for someone to guess what your password could be! Additionally, use a different password for every account you create.
4. Avoid using a hotspot. These devices can be easily hacked, allowing hackers to access your information.

Meet Our Vice President of IT Managed Services, Paul Drummond

Paul started working on computers as a hobby and soon realized he could make a career out of it, which led to him earning his Associates Degree in Computer Information Systems.

After working for years in the IT field, Paul joined Richard Welch and Pete MacDonald at Welch Healthcare as a Network Administrator. He felt right at home working with Rick and Pete and enjoyed applying his skills in the healthcare field. As Spark Technologies developed, Paul was excited to start a new chapter in his career — he could continue to support his clients, new and old, to the highest level. If there is a problem that needs to be solved, computer related or not, Paul enjoys the challenge of finding a resolution!

Outside of the office, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He also enjoys working on home renovation projects, playing and building retro game consoles, traveling, and working on cars.
